Feel a significant difference in acceleration. Your engine will spool noticably faster! We can also provide balancing, resurfacing, and dowel pinning procedures.
Balancing is required, resurfacing is determined by inspection after lightening, dowel pinning to the crank is always recommended. See our blog post Flywheel Lightening - Doing It Right for more information on this proceedure.
Flywheel lightening requires a core flywheel to be sent to us. If you cannot supply a core we usually have good flywheel cores on the shelf. Turn around time is typically 2 weeks if we do not have one in stock.
There are two different size flywheels, an 'early' (278mm ring gear OD) and a 'late' (291mm ring gear OD) Please choose the one that suits the bell housing on your transmission.
Late (291mm) Flywheel Weight: ~14.0lbs Interial Specs: 265lb-in^2 (not including clutch)
We recommend a rev/rpm limit of 7200rpm on these (and any OE cast) flywheel. For higher rpm, consider an aluminum or billet steel flywheel.
